I think it's safe to say that everyone has a fallback vino. Something that's easy, cheap, and delicious. An everyday choice! I am fortunate enough to have an aunt that works for Eberle Winery in Paso Robles, CA. Through that I have fallen deeply in love with their wines. Eberle produces amazing wines, especially their reds! One of these is their Full Boar Red, a table wine. The FBR is so good! It's very flavorful and medium bodied for a table wine. And at $7/bottle (discounted price) I can't beat it! Full price of $14 is still really good for it. It's not sold in stores though. Inspite of this, I'm surious to know what people usualy fall back on for their easy drink?

Fallback vino, hmmm... well, I don't know if I can really pick just one since I have a couple memberships to various wineries and I feel like I always have a shipment ready for me to pick up so I tend to try quite a variety. If I had to pick something though, I would have to say that I could drink the CigarZin from Cosantino's everyday. If you're talking about sparkling wines also, I really like the Sparkling Red from Domaine Chandon.

Out here in MD where wine sales are very restricted, we have everything come through state sanctioned distributors. So we don't see the variety that you guys out west do. Having said that my 2 fallbacks mare the Hess Select Cab and the Avalon Cab. Here they run about $12 and pretty good.

Yes, living this close to so many popular wine areas provides a very nice selection. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to try so many different wines.

I don't know that I have a 'fallback' wine per se, but I generally always have some Salmon Run on hand. Usually their riesling, and one of their red table wines (like the Coho Red).

When in doubt, Merlot. Frequently Barefoot Merlot.

If I'm looking for cheap and reliable, I like Lindeman's South African Merlot. It's like $8 or $9 and is pretty enjoyable.
